Twenty-four Pitt faculty members have been named Highly Cited Researchers™, an increase from 23 last year. The University of Pittsburgh ranks among the Top 50 global organizations by total awards received in 2024. This highlights the quality and expertise of the researchers at the University of Pittsburgh.
The Highly Cited Researchers™ 2024 list recognizes 6,636 researchers from 59 countries whose work ranks within the top 1% by citations in Web of Science™ over the past decade and whose contributions to the community are shaping the future of science, technology, and academia. Over 2,500 of these distinguished researchers are affiliated with U.S. institutions.
