Tobias E. Rodriguez

Tobias Rodriguez supports Pitt’s faculty in advancing the research and scholarship culture at the University. He is responsible for identifying opportunities to fund faculty and institutional research agendas, he coaches faculty on proposal and career development efforts, and works to increase Pitt’s representation with prestigious and notable research awards.

Prior to joining Pitt, Rodriguez was vice president at a consultancy focused on health professions and higher education. He led academic and research initiatives specific to professional development, research development, strategic planning, and feasibility studies and accreditation. He worked extensively with over 100 international universities and academic health centers, including institutions across the Middle East, Turkey and China. Rodriguez also previously served as a faculty member at the Louisiana State University Health Science Center where he received accolades for his teaching and research development efforts.

Rodriguez earned his bachelor’s degree in microbiology at New Mexico State University and his doctorate in microbiology and immunology at the University of Michigan.
